Preah Vihear Temple is an ancient Hindu temple built durin' the period of the Khmer Empire, that is situated atop a 525-metre (1,722 ft) cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains, It is located at Toek Krohorm Commune, Chorm Khsan District, Preah Vihear Province, Cambodia on the border between Cambodia and Thailand. Most of the temple was constructed in the 11th and 12th century durin' the reigns of the Khmer kin' s Suryavarman I and Suryavarman II. It was dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
Preah Vihear is the subject of a long-runnin' territorial dispute between Thailand and Cambodia, and several soldiers were killed in clashes in 2009. In 1962, followin' a lengthy dispute between Thailand and Cambodia over ownership, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague ruled that the temple is in Cambodia.
